Weekend Contest Synopsis

Saturday Night Party - 8:30 pm / LIVE entertainment FIRST JASON and THE SLOT RODS

Two contests will take place at the Saturday Night Party. Admission is $10.00 (FREE for Gold Pass Holders). Cash Bar. ALL individuals MUST show valid driver’s license for admission. MUST be over 18 for entry. MUST be over 21 to consume alcoholic beverages.

Tattoo contest - Saturday night 
Cost: $5.00 fee (on top of admission to Saturday Night Party) contest... 
MUST BE INKED, MUST PAY $5.00 FEE, MUST BE REGISTERED BEFORE 8PM AT SKULLHOUSE BOOTH / HOME BASE.

The $5.00 cost defers the cost of the trophies for the winners of each category.

Winner of each category gets a trophy and an MCN swag bag. Judges to be announced. 

Four categories:

Miss Motor City Nightmare
Cost: FREE! 
All entries simply dress in what they think best represents what a sexy Miss Motor City Nightmare should be. ONE WINNER. MUST BE REGISTERED BEFORE 8PM AT SKULLHOUSE BOOTH / HOME BASE.

Miss Motor City Nightmare will be crowned and will win a walk on in an upcoming SKULLHOUSE PICTURES production, as well as crown our next Miss Motor City Nightmare at the next convention. Judges to be announced. 

OTHER CONTESTS

Art Contest - Friday and Saturday
Cost: FREE!

All work submitted will be on display inside the vendor room Friday and Saturday (April 15th and 16th), as well as a majority of Sunday (April 17th).

Attendees at the convention will be invited to vote for their favorite piece.  1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will be awarded.  

All types of art are being accepted (i.e. painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, digital art etc….) 

Each artist submitting work will receive $5 off of their total admission to the Motor City Nightmares 
Convention. (This is non-transferable and must be used by the artist only) 

  1. Artwork MUST be Horror and/or Sci Fi related.  
  2. All pieces must be original works.  Depictions of well known characters are OK, as long as it is an original rendition. (In other words…No Plagiarism!)
  3. All art must be submitted ready to display.  However you give it to us is how we will put it up.  If hanging is required, please have some sort of hanging apparatus on the back.  Framing or matting is recommended.  
  4. All artists must submit an entry form by Monday, April 11th.  Completed entry forms should be emailed to MCNartguy@yahoo.com  
  5. All art must be dropped off at the Hotel on Friday, April 15th between 11:00am and 2:00pm.  
  6. All art must be picked up from the hotel on Sunday, April 17th between 3:00pm and 5:00pm.  (If meeting these times is impossible for pickup or drop off, contact MCNartguy@yahoo.com )
  7. Please do not submit any art depicting Sexual Acts. 
  8. Multiple Submissions are OK, but no more than three per artist.

Costume Contest - Saturday noon till 4pm - Sponsored by Back to the Past Comics and CollectablesCost: FREE!

Entries register at Back to the Past booth anytime between noon and 2pm on Saturday

Entries will receive contest number to display on their costume

Entries shop and walk rooms at their leisure until 3pm, then (weather permitting) entries will be led to do a "horror walk" through entire room and down Haggerty road for a few hundred feet to show off their costumes to drivers. 

Guests through the door, vendors, and VIP guests will be the judges. Winners will be chosen by majority vote.
